The Volunteer Center of Erie County offers programs that:

	Connect people with opportunities to serve.
	Build the capacity for effective volunteering.
	Promote volunteering.
	Participate in national volunteer events such as Make A Difference Day

How can you make a difference?

	play bingo with senior citizens		help build a house
	practice reading with a child		work in a gift shop
	pull weeds		interview a veteran
	escort visitors		plant a garden
	guide tours		befriend a child

Volunteer by Donating

The Volunteer Center maintains agency wish lists. These include home and office furniture, appliances and more. Call to find out if something you no longer need could benefit someone else.


Youth Volunteering

Studies have shown that children who volunteer are twice as likely to volunteer as adults. Our
Youth Involvement Program helps youth volunteers by:

	visiting Erie County schools to provide classroom volunteer opportunities.
	connecting youth with community volunteer opportunities.
	providing family volunteer opportunities.
	presenting an exemplary youth volunteer the YES! award monthly.
